2016 was a very busy year for Andrew Downs Photography.
From shooting 30 charity-based events to six weddings in very unique locations to a three week ten country photographic tour through Europe, 2016 saw little dust collecting on my cameras.
It was also a big year for my wife Andrea, who assisted and photographed five weddings with me. She has come into her own as a photographer and provides an invaluable perspective when photographing a wedding.
2017 proves to be another big year. One of my resolutions for this year is to pay more attention to this website and provide current and potential clients with improved access, communications, and information.
I've spent the last four weeks overhauling nearly every aspect of this website. This includes updated galleries for wedding, portrait, and event photography. Also updated is the information and FAQ page that provides the kind of answers needed when determining hiring a photographer.
My plan going forward is to update this blog on a weekly basis. While many posts will provide updates regarding the projects I have recently worked on, I also want to provide information to help make readers of this blog better photographers themselves. Upcoming topics will include how to improve your basic photography skills, take better travel photos, picture taking versus picture making, camera and lens recommendations, and other topics that relate to general photography. My hope is that this website and blog not only highlights my own work but will improve yours as well.
So thanks for stopping by and I look forward to starting a discussion with those interested in photography.
